Who We Are

GrrrlBands is a community-driven music collective in Carrboro NC that provides women and non-binary adults with a space to learn, create, and perform. Inspired by the Riot Grrrl movement, we believe in the power of music as a tool for self-expression, collaboration, and change.

 

What We Do

We’re starting with an 8-week pilot program, where participants join bands, practice together, and build confidence in a supportive environment. But this is just the beginning! As we grow, we plan to offer:
🎶 More Bands – Expanding opportunities to join or form new groups.
   * Music Lessons – For beginners & experienced musicians alike.
🏡 A Permanent Space – A dedicated hub for rehearsals, workshops, and community events.

🍽️ Community Meals – Using our space to cook and share meals with those who need them, because building a strong community means taking care of each other.

 

Why We Exist

Music spaces have historically been male-dominated—we’re here to help change that. GrrrlBands is all about creating an inclusive space where women and non-binary adults can take center stage, find their voice, and rock out without barriers.
